Brown as a Biscuit!

Ryan is brown as a biscuit from our trip to Treasure Island, Florida! My grandmother used to tell me that I was brown as a biscuit in the summer when I got a good tan, so I tell Ryan the same thing! We had a great time at the beach with Nick's family. They have been going to Treasure Island every summer at the same time (4th of July week) for years with a large group of people from their church. It is always a good time with a great group of people. Ryan really enjoyed the water this time. He hung out in the ocean with us and even went to sleep in the ocean one day. He was such a trooper the whole time, even though he had an ear infection.

The week before we left was a rough week at night. Ryan cried for 3 nights straight before I called his pediatrician. We went to see Dr. Harris and he had an ear infection! We headed home with the bubble gum medicine, which Ryan took with no problems. The antibiotic seemed to help within 24 hours, so I was not worried out heading out of town with him!

All of us on July 4th waiting on the fireworks on the beach

Pretty fireworks (Ryan did not mind the fireworks at all, but he was ready for bed!)

We had a few firsts at the beach as well. Ryan started using a sippy cup with watered down apple juice in it! He likes anything with apples involved, but apple juice is a big hit! We only give it to him once and awhile, but it helped keep him hydrated while at the beach! Also, we started using a BeBe pod and Ryan likes it better than the Bumbo. We love that it has a little tray that slides on (Ryan is not able to pull it off) and a toy attachment. It keeps Ryan entertained for a short time!

Also, Ryan had to adapt to a different bathtub for the week. We had too much stuff to bring his whale infant tub, so Nick bought an inflatable duck tub. Ryan loved it! When you press the beak, the duck quacks! He sat up really well in it and he could also lay back in it!

Ryan used his new baby float for the first time! We had another float that he had been using, but this one held him up much better!

Of course, we had lots of fun at night. It had to be before Ryan's bedtime, but we were still able to do lots of stuff. We ate at Bubba Gump at John's Pass one night. Everything at the restaurant is related to the Forrest Gump movie.

We celebrated Aunt Jessica's birthday at the beach! She was 25 this year! Ryan was glad that he got to spend time with his aunt on her birthday! We went to Leverocks for dinner and it was delicious! Unfortunately, Ryan was not able to stay up for cake and ice cream, but he made it as long as possible!

The last day at the beach is always a long day of sun to try to get our skin as tan as possible and enjoy the water! Ryan took several naps a day and some of them were really long! He did great in his pack-n-play! I was so proud of him.

Enjoying the pool on the last day!

We had a great trip! It was sad when it was over, but it was good to be at home when we got back there. I think even Ryan was glad to sleep in his crib! We are looking forward to next year!
